You're cynical and beautiful, you always make a scene. You're monochrome delirious, you're nothing that you seem.

Welcome to a new month and new topic for Photo 52: Project Light. This month we will be exploring the world in black & white. With digital photography it's easy to turn any image from color to black & white with just a click. What we hope to learn this month is not just how to convert an image into a nice black & white, but how to SEE in monochrome and shoot with intention. I saw my first image for the month at the pool.

Photo 52: Project Light is a collaborative year long project I am working on with several other talented photographers. To see all of our submissions for this week just follow the links at the bottom of each blog post. (For more information on Project Light click on my premier post.)

Next up is fabulous photographer Jessie Wixon. If she isn't at home in NYC, you will probably find her someplace sunny with her gorgeous beach babies! Please follow the rest of the circle around to see a world in black & white.

This is like a painting... which is what you're experimenting with if I remember correctly :-). I love everything about it.

This is simply beautiful. I love how we can just slightly make out the figures of mother and child and the slow and repetitive movement of the water.

I love how they are bathed and centered in the light!
